Ingredients
-
1 ½ cups Date Lady BBQ sauce
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp date sugar
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp sea salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
- 4 garlic cloves crushed
- ½ medium onion chopped
- 3 lbs boneless skinless chick thighs or breasts
Directions
In a 6-8 qt slow cooker, whisk together BBQ sauce, ACV, date sugar, spices, garlic and onion until well combined. Add the chicken, stirring to fully coat each piece in the mixture.
- Cover and cook until the chicken is tender and easy to shred with a fork. About 4-6 hours on low or 2-3 hours on high.
- Remove the garlic cloves and then using two forks, shred the chicken well and stir fully into the sauce.
- Cover and cook on low for an additional 30 minutes. Taste and adjust the salt and vinegar as needed.
- Turn the crockpot to warm and serve the chicken on your favorite sandwich buns!
