Chocolate Frosting
Directions
Chocolate Cake
Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
Mix all your dry ingredients together in a large bowl until they’re well-combined.
In a separate bowl, mix all your wet ingredients together until smooth.
Mix your wet ingredients into your dry ingredients using a high-powered electric whisk or stand mixer. Once well-combined, set aside.
Pour into two round 8 x 8 cake pans and bake for 30–35 minutes.
Chocolate Frosting
Soften your date paste by a 30–60 second spin in the microwave, being careful not to burn it!
Combine all your ingredients together in a stand mixer or blender and blend or mix until smooth and pasty. Your frosting should be thick and spreadable. If it is chunky or dry, add more melted coconut oil as needed.
After your cakes have cooled, apply your frosting to them using a spoon and a frosting knife.
Once done, finally, cut up the cake and enjoy!
