Ingredients
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 eggÂ
- 1 cup Nutrient-Rich Date Syrup
- 2 ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ tsp saltÂ
Directions
Melt the chocolate and butter together utilizing the double boiler method.
- Beat your eggs and vanilla together until well-combined.
Allow the chocolate-butter mixture to cool for a minute or two, then gradually add it to the egg-vanilla mixture while continuously whisking.
- Once both wet mixtures are well-combined, add the dry ingredients to the consolidated mixture and mix it until everything is well-combined. (I recommend using a stand mixer for best results.)
Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of cookie dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and gently flatten with a spatula.
Preheat the oven to 350ºF and bake for 10–12 minutes. They will be soft to the touch but will become chewier when allowed to cool.
- Cool completely before serving, then sprinkle with flakey sea salt and enjoy!
