Date Onion Jam


1 medium red onion
1 Tablespoon butter
1/3 cup date syrup
2 Tablespoons stone ground mustard
Salt to taste


Slice onion in half and slice thinly. Place in a medium pot with butter. Saute on medium high
until soft and translucent, about 7 minutes. Add the date syrup, mustard, and salt to taste. Stir
together and cook another 5 minutes to let all the flavors cook together. Turn off heat. Delicious
served on burgers or on crostini.
