Author:Camryn Lapp

Ingredients
-
2 cups chopped raw pecans
- ½ cup date sugar
- 2-3 tsp date syrup
- 6 TBSP salted butter or coconut oil (with a pinch of salt)
Directions
In a small bowl, combine the date sugar and date syrup with a fork until it resembles a brown sugar consistency, clumpy but combined.
- In a large pan, melt the butter or coconut oil over medium heat. Once fully melted, add your date sugar mixture and stir to combine.
- Add the pecans and toss gently to fully coat them. Let the pecans candy in the mixture for 6-7 minutes over the medium heat stirring every 30 seconds. The mixture should bubble gently and thicken into a sticky syrup.
- Pour the nut mixture into a single layer on a parchment paper lined baking sheet to cool. After 10-15 minutes, check to see if the mixture has hardened enough to break into pieces.
- Break up the sheet fully into desired sizes and place in a bowl or jar to harden and cool completely.
- Enjoy!
