Cafe Dhibs, a micro café by Date Lady, offers select espresso drinks, treats and date shakes next door to the Date Lady's facility in Springfield, Missouri.

Springfield, MO. – Date Lady™, a supplier of California dates, date syrup, date sugar and a variety of award-winning date-based products, announces the opening of a brick and mortar retail location next to their Commercial Street facility. Driven by the mission to offer products created with pure and simple ingredients, the family and employee owned company will extend their current offering to the new storefront operation and offer baked items, a special variety of coffee drinks and date shakes.

The new café is housed in a 400 square foot building just to the west of Date Lady at 918 W. Commercial Street that has historically housed a barber shop. “We have out-of-state people call into the office, tell us they are passing through Missouri and ask if we have a retail store location.” said Colleen Sundlie, Date Lady Founder. “When the barber shop became available we just couldn’t resist the opportunity to create this space and a personal outlet to connect directly with our customers.” Date Lady’s menu will consist entirely of gluten-free fare and will include paleo and dairy-free options. “In addition to that, we feel that there is an untapped market in our hometown for high-quality gluten-free and paleo friendly foods and we would like to provide that option in a very original way using our own recipes and obviously, a-lot of our products!” Commented Sundlie.

The menu will includes a rotating assortment of baked items such as pop-tarts, orange-date scones, and Date Lady’s award-winning fruitcake will be available seasonally. The coffee menu will include the namesake Café Dhibs drink - espresso, steamed milk, date syrup and fresh whipping cream.

Dhibs, an Arabic word often used when referring to date syrup in the Middle East, will be open from 7:30-3:30 Tuesday and 9-4 on Saturday, with extended hours anticipated starting in summer.
